Creating Comfort in Outdoor Spaces
Hung outside windows, exterior rolling solar shade screens block the sun before its rays reach the glass panes and impact the interior of your home. Mounted on the roofs or sides of patio decks and pergolas solar shade screens provide controllable shade and glare, UV, and protection from wind and bugs.
Since these shades tend to be larger and installed in higher, harder-to-access areas, they pair perfectly with a motorized lift: the light streaming in to your patio can be controlled with the touch of a button.
Construction of our solar shade screen systems include:
- Long lasting, durable screen fabric that blocks 75%, 80%, 90% or 95% of the sun’s heat & UV
- Screen fabrics are available in several colours
- A variety of frame colours to match your home
- All aluminum construction, powder coated – ideal for our West Coast environment
- With or without a cassette box to protect the screen fabric when rolled up
- With or without side rails
- 5 year parts and labour warranty
Screen Fabrics – darker coloured screens allow the best visibility, while lighter colour screen fabrics reflect more light and tend to make the mesh look nearly opaque. Block the sun, not your view!
Talius Habitat Screens
Habitat solar shade screen systems from Talius (a BC made product) are a unique answer to controlling the sun’s harsh UV rays and providing a refuge on windy patios.
Edge Retention System – one of the advantages of the Habitat screens are their unique ‘edge retention’ system which keeps the screen material firmly in the side rails even in very gusty winds – remarkably a 13 foot wide screen
The unique guide rail system prevents the screen edges from blowing out in stormy weather and the screen fabric retracts neatly into a 5” cassette box. Habitat screens can be motorized with remote control or alternately, operated with a hand crank.
